unfortunately ant as deployed on the baseline has a bug and expects
SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH to be in milliseconds, and if set in an environment
variable would also override the ant.tstamp.now property even when
explicitly provided at the commandline, so to avoid bogus timestamps
unset it if it was exported in the environment (default build doesn't
export it, but the user may export it to override or provide a value
e.g. when not building from source.
for ant.tstamp.now to work for setting the tstamp value, ant 1.10.2 or
later is required

git-bash/MSYS tries to resolve anything that looks like a path (i.e.
anything starting with a /) - if the "target" doesn't exists, it just
prepends the MSYS installation dir and breaks all kind of stuff.
You could escape those with double-slash at the beginning, but that
would mean lots of noise/unnecessary changes in pretty much every
makefile, so just getting rid of that behavior is much better.
ant and some externals however rely on MSYS path-conversion, so unset
MSYS_NO_PATHCONV for those. Ant does its own checks whether it
runs under cygwin or msys, and easier to please externals using the
autoconversion than to add patches to force them into compliance…

LibreOffice has a JNI component on Windows and Linux, the
officebean. Therefore we need a host JDK for linkage to the
jawt, and a build JDK to compile the Java code.

For one, drop a spurious target="1.5" so that ant instead uses the passed-in
JAVA_TARGET_VER (which needs to be 1.6 for Java 9).
For another, the deprecated java.awt.Component.getPeer method finally got
removed, so bsh.util.AWTConsole would no longer compile. But it looks like that
class is not used by us anyway, so just remove the problematic code.
(workdir/UnpackedTarball/beanshell/docs/manual/bshmanual.html: "Web Browser
Access: After starting the server you can connect your web browser to the port
you specified. BeanShell will respond by sending an HTML page offering you a
choice of the Swing based JConsole or the older AWTConsole. You may choose
whichever is appropriate for your web browser. [...] The bsh.util.AWTConsole
is a legacy implementation of the GUI Console using AWT instead of Swing. This
console does work, but it is not as slick or pretty as the JConsole. The
primary reason it is still here is to support remote access from generic web
browsers using only Java 1.1.")
